10 Sure fire Self Esteem And Self Improvement Tips

When it comes to improving self-esteem, they usually mean confidence. While the two are related, they are exactly the same. Self-esteem has to do with self-esteem and self-confidence. This is how we see ourselves in relationship with others and our environment. It has nothing to do with vanity or pride.

Low self-esteem is a major problem and a quality grading. Rich and poor are affected by it and people choose between happiness and unhappiness because of it. If self-esteem is an area of life that need improvement, here are some tips that you can use to build your own value and improve the perception of himself:

1. Know what you want. Impossible to assess where you are in your journey if you have no idea what I have in life. Nor can judge whether you have done a good job or just so-so.

Set clear and achievable goals. Make sure these are the things we want to do and achieve, and not things that their parents, relatives, friends and colleagues insist that "should" have. Is it only the latest trends dictate their aspirations? If this is the case, will never catch up and be satisfied. You can not claim their own goals, as if we recognize that things really, really want in your life.

2. Assess their strengths. List the things you do well and the things that make a good person. There could be some intelligence, a good sense of humor, good analysis, compassion, creativity, the ability to detect trends, people skills, things you and capabilities recognized as an integral part of his personality and talent. No matter how you feel weak in your life, these are qualities that have never lost.

List your negative traits and label them as areas of your life that you need to work, areas of improvement. Treat them as they make you look downright passive trait unalterable your life and create the feeling that you are powerless against them.
4. Build slowly. Taking small steps to improve your self-esteem. Great success is based on small successes. You can choose to change your perspective drastically today and expect results ends in the morning. Taking the slow performance and good for each shift, gradually build a solid foundation of achievements that will increase your self-esteem more effectively.
5. Make it a point to improve the same day. Whatever you do, say or think it should focus on improving self-esteem. Improve the way you dress, walk or talk. Take further studies to improve their knowledge and skills, learn a new language, take cooking classes, start a new hobby. Being able to immerse themselves in trouble activity creates a sense of capacity and open new opportunities for growth.
6. Stay away from people who pull you down with snide remarks and unfair criticism. Associate with positive people. There will always grumpy and naysayers who do not hesitate to advise carelessly that make others feel unworthy of praise or recognition. If you find people who make it their mission in life to minimize the achievements of others, keep your distance. They do nothing good to your life.
7. Be yourself. Never improve your self-esteem if you try to live and be accepted as projected itself mask. Pretending to be someone you're not an error to assert their uniqueness and potential and only make you sad about your situation. You can not make everyone like you, so do not try.

8. Make other people feel good about themselves. People tend to like you more if you are honest and kind. Improve your listening skills and body language to make people feel at ease. To respond in a visible interest and.

You might think that this is the opposite of what you want to do to improve your self-esteem, but you really focus on other people, it creates an aura of sympathy to gravitate towards, if you choose another. And when you are identified as a good person who is great to be with him, his self-esteem grows.

9. You have the right to make mistakes. Nobody is perfect, regardless of what you hear or what the popular media would have you believe. Accepting that mistakes are made and that all goes well, you will learn to recognize that this is a necessary process that has to go to you to improve.

10. Recognize that you are a unique individual with a different set of talents and has something to contribute. You can not be a big celebrity like Justin Timberlake, as rich as Bill Gates or as powerful as Oprah Winfrey, but her individuality makes you as important as they are, with as much right to exist and make something of himself itself.

Self Esteem and Self Confidence: What Do They Have in Common?

"Self-confidence" and "self-esteem" are words that are often used interchangeably. But the truth is, confidence is somewhat different from oneself. To distinguish the two, it is important to set one after another.

The term confidence comes from a Latin word which means to trust or faith. A person is said to be safe if you can set reasonable goals, acquire knowledge and practical skills to carry out any activity in order to achieve their goals. Usually, the term trust is associated with external factors of the world, especially how others perceive us and how we controlled and show what we did.

On the other hand, self-esteem (SE) is more concerned about the way we treat ourselves and how we feel deep within ourselves our soul. Often, self-confidence and SE are connected, but not always actually related. You can work hard and acquire skills and improve yourself to make the deep feeling that feels weak SE. But it can still be considered highly qualified and successful by others. There are many people with great initiative who are motivated by the need, but sometimes expected compliance management slides that brought them to work too much or trying to find safety in other areas. Therefore, confidence can possibly be developed with self-esteem or separately.

On the other hand, low self-esteem can negatively affect his life. Not only has an effect on your personal life, but in their relationship with others. Here are some common effects:

Impact on relationships:Normally Low SE greatly affect the privacy of a person. A person short intimacy tends to be aggressive or not receptive to others, sometimes.

Fear of rejection and failure: if possible stay away from situations and complex process and the lack of ability to choose or make your mind on something because of low self-esteem or self- so that a person feels about his car.

To improve own OS, you need to know and to understand exactly what the obstacles and problems on how you feel. The next step is to know what is the best way to improve your sense of worth.

What Innovation Can Do to Your Life

It's a talent that everyone has, but I think they do. The power of innovation. If you've ever admired someone's creative prowess, guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential, because the truth is that everyone has potential.

You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or drive or to never commit the same mistake? It's the same with innovation. It takes a little practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily when called. This article will teach you some tips on how to bring innovation into your life.

Do not listen to what others say. Follow the beat of his own drum. Taking into account the contributions of others will only bring cacophony to the music you're trying to do. If you have an original idea, do not waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They will not. And the help you will probably be in the form of negative feedback. If all those geniuses listened to their peers, they will probably still living in the Middle Ages.

Spend time on it. I can not emphasize this point, but please do not mistake this tip to tell you to quit your day job entirely. Not. This implies a certain time management difficult, but with a little discipline you'll be able to squeeze both in.

Exercise. Take a walk. Run a mile or two. Send all those endorphins in his veins. Exercise releases and certainly relaxes your mind and allows for anything to appear.

Write your dreams. Are not some of them just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought? If you've had these dreams, and I'm sure have, this shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So write these notes. These dreams may just create an innovative spark in you.

Find your own style. Whenever you see a Van Gogh from a Matisse. You know Hemingway wrote something by the choice of words on paper. It is the same with you. People will appreciate your innovation more because it is uniquely yours and that no one else would have thought of what I thought. This will allow people to see how a resource you are.

Do not hide behind nifty gadgets or tools. You do not need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece. The same way with writing. You do not need an expensive pen and paper too soft for a bestseller. In fact, JK Rowling wrote the first book in the series Harry Potter pieces of cloth. So what if you have an SLR camera if you're a photographer shit? Who cares if you have a blinging laptop if you can not write at all? The artist actually reduces the number of tools you have as it improves his craft: he knows what works and what does not.

Nothing works without passion. That wakes up in the morning? What keeps the flame? What you will die if he does not? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want more. Think the hare and the tortoise. Ellen Degeneres said that if you do not do something you want to do, then you really do not want to. And it's true. Sometimes you just want something so bad you become a virtual unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going.

Do not worry about inspiration. You can not force inspiration strikes when you least expect it, for these unpredictable times but inevitable to prepare. One idea might find in the subway, but alas, poor unfortunate soul, you have no sheet of paper to scribble an idea that could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm at any time.

I hope this article has helped you bring more innovation into your life. Note that you do these things for your own satisfaction and nobody else. But soon you will see, and everything should snowball from there.

How to Build Up Low Self Esteem

Though it is difficult to give a definition of self esteem, the psychological term denotes an individual's evaluation about their own self. Though many give their own definition of self esteem, widely accepted definition is that of Nathaniel Branden. According to him, self esteem is "the experience of being competent to cope with the basic challenges of life and being worthy of happiness".
It is important to understand, when born, most of us will have high self esteem. This is influenced as we grow, by teachers, parents and other friends or relatives. Many have low self esteem due to one of these influencing personalities. With low esteem, we can never live life to their fullest, or enjoy life. Even doing our daily routine, relationships, or achieving goals can become a problem with reduced self esteem.
Here are few tips to improve self esteem.
Stay positive and upbeat: Thinking you are not capable, or you are not worthy are signs of having low self esteem. Have a positive outlook and believe yourself.
Cherish your every achievement and reward yourself for them.
Much like how you shouldn't brag about yourself, you shouldn't decline appreciation and honor. You are honored and appreciated, because you are worth it! Accept it gracefully.
Never think about your problems and brood over your past. Move on and have a positive outlook, so you can change your future.
Understand your powers and limitations. It is good to be positive, but you should know where you stand in life. Never be over ambitious or think about things that aren't viable and be depressed over it. Use your powers and win over your limitations!
Challenge yourself every now and then. Change is one thing that's constant and when you adapt yourself to different situations, you can become a better person. This way, you can also know your hidden potentials.
Don't compare yourself with anyone, who above or below you! You are what you are! There's no photocopy of you. Remember, you are unique and special. By comparing, you can undermine yourself. You might not be the best rapper, but you will probably be good at something else. So don't compare yourself with others.
Stay motivated at all times. Reading inspirational thoughts, affirmations, quotes on self esteem and everything related, can keep you upbeat and motivated.
Socialize and never restrict yourself to a cage! You need to mingle with others, get out of your room or home and talk to people you know and know those you don't! Socializing, is one way to improve your self esteem.
Set realistic goals and strive to achieve them. By setting goals and working towards achieving them, you improve your self esteem.
Forgive your mistakes and work towards being a better person. No one is perfect! Instead, learn from your mistakes.
Be confident, never over confident. Believe in yourself and strive to better yourself every moment. Never put yourself down, for anything or anyone!
Remember to have fun! Life is short, so make the most of it when you can. It is never wrong to have fun! Enjoy life and be happy!

Overcoming Pessimistic Mindset

More often than not, people who have positive outlook in life have greater chance to succeed than their pessimistic counterparts. The reason behind this is actually simple and obvious: motivation. Without enough positive impetus, people tend to be ether self-destructing or self-defeating in their attitudes toward challenging situations. How can anybody actually succeed without first believing that they have the capacity to succeed?
Pessimism-depression connection
Not unless a person is clinically depressed or has a bi-polar personality, there is no need for medications. Depression is a form of pessimism but pessimism itself does not always manifest itself as depression. Negative mindset may also manifest as lack of motivation to pursue worthwhile things simply because they are difficult.
Defeating negativism is the first step in actually achieving something significant. On one hand, pessimism is a form of coping mechanism of trying to justify failure or to avoid failure. It is usually coupled with laziness and procrastination. Many pessimistic individuals are also fond of blaming others rather than admitting their own inadequacies and taking responsibility for their actions.
Pessimism may eventually spiral down to depression if the situation becomes worse. For instance, a pessimistic person may become depressed with the realization of being a failure in life.
Know thyself
Combating pessimism is a psychological struggle that can only be won by examining the self. Acknowledging limitations is good but discovering potentials is much better. A person who is caught in pessimistic attitude should try to emphasize all the positive attributes of himself or herself. Listing all of these down can help.
Knowing one's self is difficult but not impossible. It may require the critical assessment of the current situation and recalling the progress made in the past. A turning point or key event may be identified as the main trigger for the current pessimism. Perhaps an initial failure on attempting something really important triggered the loss of interest.
Socialize
Associating with positive-minded people will help in overcoming personal pessimism. Finding friends that are supportive and motivated can boost self-confidence. Becoming a member of cause-oriented groups and charitable organizations may also help finding better focus.
People who focus on helping others find better sense of fulfillment. Socializing with optimistic and idealistic people can be life-changing. Even in a workplace, it is better to be part of highly-motivated and dynamic teams rather than working alone.
Take action
Inaction or insufficient action usually leads to pessimism and vice-versa. It is better to start immediately on a task or goal rather than being occupied over-analyzing the negative consequences. One must realize that taking action to fulfill aspirations is a learning process.
Eliminating procrastinations and being pro-active will reduce if not totally eliminate self doubts and fears. By being busy working on a worthy goal will divert the mind from dwelling too much on avoiding failure. One must realize that any worthwhile goal will require effort and investment of time and other resources. Pessimism can be overcome by eliminating idleness.

Over time what we say to ourselves becomes a belief. For example, if we constantly repeat to ourselves "I am loved" we will feel this love and it will impact all aspects of our lives. Our relationships will improve and we will be blessed with love in all its many shapes, sizes, and forms. Others will view us as a person that is loving and in turn give to us these same gifts.

How to Improve Your Confidence

www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1493451279247446272#editor/target=post;postID=5515913536853050071

The beliefs we hold, about who we are, shape the way we express ourselves. This is a profound truth. If you believe you are a confident person, you will be confident; similarly, if you believe you are shy and retiring, then you will behave that way. Self confidence is fundamentally derived from belief. So if you want to become more confident, then one way to do it is to work on your beliefs. Quite simply, when you change your self image - your view of your self - you will also change your behaviour. You might call this an inside out approach.
There is another way to go about becoming more confident and that might be labelled the outside in approach, a procedure that is sometimes called the 'fake it til you make it' method. Working from the outside means working on your behaviour, rather than your beliefs. Both methods can work.
Let's talk about the outside-in approach first. Do you think that you could act confident? I know you might think you are not a very good actor (by the way, that's a belief) but, do you think you could try to just act a bit more confident? When you think about this for a while, you will realise that you could. Of course, you would not see that behaviour as your own - as a part of you - it is just an act. But you could do it, if pressed - right?
Now, other people around you will not know what is going on inside you. They will largely be unaware of any internal conflict between who you think you are and this apparently other person you are now acting like. But, if you simply act confident, then you will have altered a stimulus in your environment. You will begin to produce effects that you otherwise would not have produced - the result of taking a more a confident approach to situations and that's when something important happens.
When you begin to see the fruit of acting in a more confident way, you will be receiving positive feedback. You will begin to reap the benefits of the behaviour, even though at this stage you will still not see it as yours; you will still feel that it is just an act, but you will have moved on a step. You then need to persist with the new behaviour and, do you know something? It starts to get a bit easier.
Eventually, if you keep at it, you will come to realise that your previous, retiring nature was no more you than this new behaviour you are trying on for size and then you will realise that you do have a choice. You can decide to keep the new behaviour with the benefits it brings or you can go back to your old behaviour. It is entirely up to you. But using this approach will get you to realise that being confident is no more difficult than trying on a new coat. Actually, it is simply a new habit, but that's what a behavioural habit is: a garment worn by the personality.
So, now let's talk a bit about the inside out approach. This is where you work on your belief rather than your behaviour. It works because much of our behaviour flows from our self image. Quite simply, if you can convince yourself that you are a confident person, then you will become more confident. You don't need to work on your behaviour when using this approach. It is a naturally product of changing your self image.
So how can you go about changing your beliefs about yourself? There are a number of ways including both hypnosis and positive affirmations and they can both work very well. With hypnosis, we enter a quiet, meditative state where we can gently slip helpful positive suggestions past our conscious critical self. Sounds easy and in fact, it is easy. Just remember if you purchase any hypnosis audios that they have not been prepared for the conscious mind. In fact, you might find them a bit boring. That's all a part of the process i.e. put the conscious mind to sleep whilst we talk directly to the subconscious.
An alternative approach is by using affirmations. Now I am personally a huge fan of this method for changing your self-image. It is remarkably easy to do and yet it is deceptively powerful. Affirmations take hardly any time at all and you don't need to believe in them to make them work for you. You just need to choose the right affirmations and say them to yourself regularly.
If you choose the right affirmations and repeat the procedure often enough, your subconscious mind will eventually accept those affirmations, your self image will change and the behaviour you want will flow as a natural consequence. As I mentioned above, all of these methods work.
So in summary, you can become more confident even if your think otherwise (that would be a belief again) because you can change your beliefs. You can work on the outside (behaviour) if you like the approach better. Both methods work. Remember that inside of that shy, retiring person that you may presently think you are, there is another much more confident version of yourself trying to get out.

Practical Tips To Help With Your Child's Learning Disability

www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1493451279247446272#editor/target=post;postID=5274712701668192281

The first thing to understand and embed in your system while dealing with your kids' learning disability is that you have to focus on their strengths and not on their weaknesses. They might not be able to spell as well as others, or may not know how to add up, but they may paint beautifully or may make interesting objects out of stuff lying around the house. Don't think that your kid is dumb, they are just special. Respect the difference and work to give these kids a normal life just like other kids of their age.
Here are some practical tips to help you deal with the child's learning disability:
1. Be your own expert and take charge of your kid's education: This will be that time when people from all over come up with advice and a host of suggestions. They might be well wishers. But as a parent you know better what to do. Defend your child's right to a proper education. Of course special schools can always be considered. But if the disability is such that a few months tutoring at home can bring them at par with the normal children, that's the way it should be. Try and communicate with the school of the child and talk to them about the following points:
• Clarify your goals well to the school authorities. Offer few solutions to the faculty to help your child perform better.
• Be a patient listener. Be ready to listen what school authorities have to say.
• Stay optimistic, calm and don't give up easily.
2. Understand how your child learns best: After you have figured out how your child learns best try and use them in the teaching methods. Your kid might find the audio visual medium more engaging. Get ABC learning videos or get apps on your smartphones that will help your kid write, read and draw. Sometimes the speaking skills of children are affected. That too can be corrected by these. There are hosts of material in the audio visual segment that can help with your kid's phonics understanding and interpretation. If your child is a kinesthetic learner, then there is nothing better than the field trips, model building, role playing and memory games.
3. Focus on the larger picture, think of success in life rather than success in school: Getting good grades in school is important but how important is it from a life perspective. Doing bad in school is acceptable, but reprimanding the child harshly, will probably push their success over two to three years back. So think not just academics, but that sense of self worth, the self confidence and the guts to live in the real world. Make your kid tough. Teach them to stand up for themselves and teach them to take wins and losses in the stride.
4. Encourage a healthy lifestyle: A healthy mind dwells in a healthy body. Diet, exercise, work and play, all need to be a part of the routine of your kids' daily activities.
• Exercise: Regular exercise not only keeps the body fit but also the mind. It helps in improving the mood, energy and clarity of the mind. Encourage the child to go outside and play.
• Diet: A diet that is rich in nutrients is sure to support the development and growth of the child. A diet that consists of whole grains, lean proteins, vegetables and fruits help in boosting the mental focus.
• Sleep: In case a child is not well rested their learning capabilities are badly affected. A sound sleep helps the child concentrate better.
Finally take care of yourself too. Your kid will need you for a long time to come, so be there for her. Take your health seriously; practice what you preach to her. And don't give up. A learning disability is just like any other thing, it's not invincible or insurmountable.

Four Ways to Improve Your Self Esteem

Self esteem describes how we feel about ourselves .Our self esteem or sense of self worth is normally based on our perception of our abilities and how we believe other people accept and value us as individuals. Self esteem affects our confidence and how we behave and function in life. It is our internal belief system that stems from our life experience and relationships and how we have interpreted them. We automatically find ourselves accepting those beliefs and they feel like 'reality' to us. We can improve our sense of self esteem by changing those beliefs, and in doing so will increase our confidence, and our enjoyment in living.
Here are some proven ways to increase your self esteem:
1. Accept Who You Are, Warts and All
Learn to accept and be comfortable with who you are. Become content in your own skin. We are so often far more critical of ourselves than we are of others. Our self imposed standards can be self sabotaging. You are not perfect, and no matter how hard you try, you will never become perfect. You are unique. You have a unique combination of personality, life background and experiences, strengths and weaknesses. One size does not fit all. Stop comparing yourself with others, and trying to live up to the expectations of what other people think you should be like. This is a self defeating response and will only lead to discouragement and negative self image rather than self acceptance.
2. Give Yourself Permission to Make Mistakes
To make mistakes is a natural part of learning and self improvement. Everyone makes mistakes; it is a normal part of life. We all go through negative and embarrassing experiences. Success and personal development comes, not through going through experiences, but learning from them and becoming experienced. Your attitude to mistakes and failures has far more power for personal growth than the experiences themselves. Accept that making mistakes will always be part of your life, learn from them. Failure is sometimes unavoidable, however it is not a reflection of who you are as a person, but merely a consequence of a choice or and action that was made. Do not give it unnecessary negative power in your life and future.
3. Remember You Always Have A Choice As To How You Will Respond Or React.
No matter what the situation or circumstance you always have a choice as to how you will respond to it.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said,
"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
This is so true. We may only have a few seconds to choose how we will react to a negative situation or comment, but we still have the choice to embrace, or reject its potential power over us. No one can have power over you unless you give them permission.
4. Look At Your Fears From A Different Perspective.
You are not alone in feeling fear. We all have the ability to scare ourselves into inaction. Learn to look at your fear from another perspective. Our body is unable to tell the difference between a real event and an imaginary event, and so we experience intense feelings of fear and self protection. Sometimes this fear originates from what we imagine may happen. If this is the case, our fear is not based on a real event. Whenever we step outside of our comfort zone we feel fear, this is because our fear is not necessarily based on fact, but unfamiliarity. Stepping out of our comfort zone, however, is an important part of our personal development and growth, and the fear we experience is not necessarily an indication of impending personal danger. Visualize what you would like the successful result of an action to look like, rather than focus on the worst case scenario that your imagination would have you believe might happen. Remember you have handled everything that has happened to you in your life so far, and have survived, or you would not be reading this!
Which one of behaviour patterns describes you the most? Start with that one. Set yourself a goal to choose to respond differently. Watch your self esteem start to grow and positively change your life.

5 Ways to Build Your Self-Esteem

If you have low self-esteem, you will often find you also have low self-confidence. By increasing one of them will often cause an increase in the other.
It is not necessary to make major changes in your quest for higher self-esteem. Success will come sooner if you just change the smaller things in your life.
Fighting and winning small battles will bring total victory over your lack of self-confidence sooner than trying to win the war in one decisive blow.
The following points in this article will examine the minor life changes that can be made that will eventually boost your self-esteem to heights you at once thought impossible.
1. The first step to take is the one that removes you from your comfort zone. Do not hang back at meetings, but move to the front where you can be seen. Make an effort to be at the centre of things at parties. Suffering from low self-esteem, this will seem like an impossible task, but believe me, once it has been done, it will come as second nature to you. The fear of being noticed is an irrational one: and overcoming that fear will be the bedrock of building up your self-esteem.
2. "How to Win Friends and Influence People" is a book you must read. A self-made millionaire, Dale Carnegie outlines numerous ways you can gain popularity easily.

We now live in more casual and less formal times, but it is still important that the clothes your wear are of good quality, always well-kept and clean. When wearing leather shoes, make sure they are well polished. Do not scrimp on the cost: Buy one high quality item rather than one or two less expensive ones. Wear these daily, so you are always exuding that air of self-confidence.
4. Get into shape. Pick the best way to suit you, be it exercise, a sensible well balanced diet, or yoga. Make sure your physical appearance is making you feel good about yourself. A good physique will make give you an air of self-confidence in yourself that will shine out to others.

You may be good at assembling flat pack furniture or a dab hand at mending punctures on bicycles. Whatever your skill is tell people about it. By knowing something that others do not, is a good way to feel good about yourself.
It is important that you realise that the effort you put in to raising your self-esteem and self-confidence is worthwhile. The benefits that come with your new found self-confidence and high self-esteem will enable you to face the world with a positive attitude that will reflect in the way others see you.
To begin every journey, you have to take one small first step. But it is this initial step that you may find the hardest to take. However you will find the journey much easier once it has been taken: and a new world will open for you sooner than you think.

Overcome Your Anxiety with Effective Public Speaking Tips

By Zoe Smith

How are you when speaking in front of an audience? Are you comfortable and articulate-or do you find yourself stumbling all over yourself when you open your mouth in front of people? I have many friends who have had almost crippling public speaking anxiety. The good news is it can be overcome. Yes, you do not have to spend sleepless nights anymore worrying about each time you need to face people. Here are great public speaking tips you can use to help you in the future.

1. More often than not, we will have ample time to prepare before giving a speech. Gather every bit of material you can on the topic needed and study like crazy. You don't need to incorporate every trivia you got, but you must make sure that you know as much as you can about what you are speaking about. When you are confident on your expertise or knowledge of something, it will significantly ease the anxiety you are feeling.

When you are confident in what you know, you will be a lot less anxious. Keep in mind that being prepared is only one part of it. Even if you have all these great info in front of you, don't read it word for word. Speak from your heart. This is what will attract people to listen to what you are saying and make you an effective public speaker.

2. If you are giving a power point presentation, do not give a boring bullet point presentation. Make it interesting. Incorporate compelling visuals, images, videos or sound bites. You will lose people's attention fast if you use slides and just read the bullet points. A short and concise presentation with suitable illustrations is the best.

3. Now, some people will still feel the cold claws of public speaking anxiety in the pit of their stomachs even if they have prepared and a fantastic presentation in waiting to be shown. The scariest time is 1 minute before you are to speak so before the fear even hits you, take deep and relaxing breaths. Replay your speech in your mind and envision your audience responding well to it.

4. It's always good to find at least one friendly face in the audience. If you don't have anybody with you-then look for someone who seems genuinely interested in what you are saying and direct your talk to him or her when the rest of the crowd is less than engaged. Even if one person was helped by what you have said, it has all been worth it.

5. If you want a successful talk, then engage your audience. Make your stories relatable or ask questions intermittently. Allow them to participate and make it seem like you are all friends simply having a good time. This not only dispels your own nervousness but the more positive the experience you leave your audience, the better they will remember what you have said.

Every single person has something that somebody else needs to hear-don't let a few shaking knees and sweaty palms get in the way of this wonderful opportunity to help somebody's life be better. Employ these super useful public speaking tips and be the person we all know you can be today.

Do You Want To Know Why Your Face Goes Red?

When you talk to someone does your face always go red? You will probably be suffering from blushing and you may also be shy and get embarrassed easily. But you are obviously concerned and are asking yourself why does my face go red?
When your face turns red then you are blushing, so if we know what mechanisms give rise to blushing then we can identify ways of reversing the process of blushing. Blushing tends to be located in specific areas of the body and in particularly the cheeks, ears and forehead. Also we go red round the neck and upper chest. Blushing is also associated with other symptoms such as a pounding heart, sinking feeling in the stomach, sweating and generally feeling panicky.
Blushing is an emotional reaction that is triggered when it involves interacting with other people. The result of this is for the temperature of the body to rise. When our face reddens its associated with the cooling of our body so it can maintain a constant temperature. So to explain blushing and the question, "why does my face go red?" we need to explain the physiological reaction associated with emotions and how our body is controlled.
Bodily changes associated with emotion are controlled by our nervous system. It's composed of a number of interconnecting parts. At the base of the brain is a small area of nervous tissue called the hypothalamus which is connected to the pituitary gland within our bodies. This has a number of crucial functions related to blushing. It keeps our body temperature normal as it's sensitive to blood temperatures above or below normal. The hypothalamus contains a control mechanism that detects changes like our body temperature which then operates to correct the imbalance.
It acts as a 'go between' acting upon signals sent from the brain relaying signals to the pituitary gland which then secrete appropriate hormones. One hormone under conditions of stress acts on the adrenalin gland releasing that chemical causing nervous perspiration and the heart beats faster. We also have a system of nerves that run down either side of our spinal cord which are controlled by the hypothalamus. These peripheral nerves consist of two divisions with a pair of nerves linking to various organs within the body. The mass of nerves from the middle of the spinal cord which is referred to as the sympathetic division. Impulses through these nerve fibres get transmitted by the secretion of a chemical called adrenaline. The chemicals they secrete usually have opposite reactions upon the body, the sympathetic division has a similar effect to the adrenal gland under conditions of stress.
So the sympathetic system speeds up our heart rate, increasing the dilation of the pupils in the eyes and the parasympathetic system slows it down and decreases the dilation.
Why does my face go red when I'm embarrassed?
When we experience an intense emotion like embarrassment we are aware of the bodily changes from the activation of the sympathetic nerves, our nervous system is preparing our bodies for action. When animals are frightened you'll notice the hair on their backs and tail stand on end. This is similarly activated by sympathetic nerves and the 'goosebumps' we experience is the comparable reaction in human beings.
These emotions are reflexes by our bodies to an emergency situation. Are bodies are being prepared for defense by being filled with energy. However, because blushing as associated with a social context a 'fight or flight' is somewhat inappropriate. We are forced by social constraints to stay in that embarrassing situation thus not allowing the emotion to dissipate. It is only when the emotion subsides that the parasympathetic system takes over by conserving our energy and returning to our normal state.
Activation and maintenance of sympathetic nervous system activity is therefore the reason to the question, Why does my face go red?
